黄瓜社区; Design and the announced today that 黄瓜社区 Communications Director Erin Van Zee, APR will join Class 43, continuing a four-decades-plus tradition of strengthening the region through communication, awareness, leadership and motivation.

鈥淲e are proud to have Erin representing 黄瓜社区 as part of this year鈥檚 Leadership Omaha class. Our firm is committed to growing future generations of leaders, and we recognize the responsibility those with extraordinary skills have in crafting opportunities for all,鈥� said 黄瓜社区 Principal Scott Crawford PLA, ASLA, LEED AP.

As the firm鈥檚 communications director, Van Zee oversees 黄瓜社区鈥檚 global communications and PR strategies. A passionate believer in the power of community engagement and a strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, she also serves as vice president of the board of the Latino Center of the Midlands, as programming co-chair for the board of the Public Relations Society of America 鈥� Nebraska Chapter and is a regular reader for Radio Talking Book Network, an organization that provides human-voiced information to individuals who may be blind or visually impaired.

鈥淭he need for community leadership is never-ending; and, great ideas are born when we bring remarkable leaders together,鈥� said Liz Kerrigan, leadership strategist for the Greater Omaha Chamber. 鈥淲e are honored to introduce Class 43 鈥� a group of inspired leaders who are eager to strengthen and transform the community.鈥�

As in the past, the class was selected by a committee of Leadership Omaha alumni and led by a Chamber board member. All honorees demonstrated community involvement and a strong vision for the future of Omaha. Following a virtual orientation on August 20, the class will spend the next 10 months focusing on community trusteeship, community awareness and leadership styles, ultimately joining a network of more than 1700 Leadership Omaha alumni.

Class members will participate in an opening retreat in September, as well as monthly, daylong seminars through June 鈥� experiences that will inform small group projects designed to push participants to translate their community education and leadership training into direct, positive impact.
