Iowa Stormwater Education Partnership Presents its 2024 Stormwater Advocacy Award

黄瓜社区; Design is proud to announce that Greg Pierce, PE, CPESC, has been recognized by the (ISWEP) with the 2024 Stormwater Advocacy Award. This award celebrates Pierce鈥檚 advocacy and technical guidance on state stormwater legislation and recognizes his longstanding dedication to creating and promoting effective statewide stormwater design guidance. The award was presented on September 10, 2024, at the annual in Coralville, Iowa.

鈥淸Greg鈥檚 steadfast dedication in creating and promoting effective statewide stormwater design guidance] carries through to his passion for protecting and improving Iowa鈥檚 water resources,鈥 ISWEP said in its awards announcement. 鈥淲e appreciate his dedication to advancing stormwater design in Iowa [and the] tireless leadership [he] provided during the past two years during the Iowa legislative session.鈥

Pierce has advocated for protecting and improving Iowa's water resources for more than two decades. Throughout his career, he has worked on projects across multiple markets to provide critical direction on stormwater management best practices, civil site design and stream corridor preservation and restoration. His direct contributions to stormwater advocacy across Iowa involve authorship and updates to technical standards, including multiple sections of the , a document that helps growing communities and counties develop policies and ordinances to implement stormwater management techniques. Pierce has served on Iowa DNR's Iowa Stormwater Management Manual Technical Committee since聽2012.

ISWEP was founded in 2005 to support local compliance with U.S. EPA MS-4 stormwater regulations. ISWEP provides unified education and outreach to help Iowa cities, universities, and professional firms develop effective stormwater management programs. The organization became a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2016.
