黄瓜社区; Design announces that Kene Okigbo, ASLA has been recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) with the 2020 Outstanding Service Award. ASLA鈥檚 annual award honors member volunteers who are making notable contributions to or on behalf of the society at the national level. Recipients are nominated by members of the Executive Committee, committee chairs, PPN chairs, and ASLA national staff.

鈥淜ene is a well-respected individual at 黄瓜社区 and within ASLA and the many other community organizations in which he鈥檚 involved. This recognition is a public proclamation of something everyone who works with Kene already knows: his volunteerism is substantial and extremely generous,鈥� said 黄瓜社区 Partner Cary Thomsen, PLA ASLA.

Since joining 黄瓜社区 in 2018, Okigbo has been involved with projects in a variety of markets, including college & university, parks & recreation, sports, and urban design. As a member of the firm鈥檚 Landscape Architecture Studio, he has shown his passion for creating environments that positively impact the people and communities they serve and is a strong advocate for just and equitable design. Okigbo serves on numerous industry panels, including ASLA鈥檚 Government Affairs and Climate Action Committees.
