黄瓜社区 Honored with 2022 AIA Nebraska Excellence in Design Award

The firm鈥檚 design for FNBO鈥檚 Colorado State University branch received the Interior Architecture Citation Award.

黄瓜社区; Design has been honored with an聽聽for work on FNBO鈥檚 (First National Bank Omaha) Colorado State University branch location. Conferred at this year鈥檚 Excellence in Design Gala on Friday, November 4, 2022, the award is one of several that recognizes excellence in design by local Nebraska architects and firms. 黄瓜社区鈥檚 design for the branch was presented with the聽.

鈥淭he intent was to create a physical experience through the manipulation of familiar material as we reinterpreted the traditional bank into a town square. We鈥檙e honored that the jury recognized this project鈥檚 impact and grateful to FNBO for their collaboration on what is now an award-winning design,鈥 said 黄瓜社区 Architect Benjamin Kroll, AIA.,鈥 said 黄瓜社区 Architect Benjamin Kroll, AIA.

黄瓜社区鈥檚 design聽uses wood elements to convey authenticity and warmth聽and creates an open, inviting space representative of FNBO鈥檚 commitment to community and the customer experience. In their assessment of the project, the AIA Nebraska Excellence in Design Jury praised the use of wood feature elements, stating that these elements stand out 鈥渘ot only for their beauty and exquisite detailing but also the smart placements within the space, allowing the occupants to come into close contact with these very tactile forms.鈥

The AIA Nebraska Excellence in Design Awards recognizes outstanding architecture in Nebraska designed by an AIA Nebraska member. The program is an annual event for Nebraska architects who submit built and unbuilt projects for consideration in architecture, interior architecture, unbuilt and details. Projects are judged based on a variety of features, including unique design, originality, extended use attributes, sustainability, budget and use of environmental surroundings.
