Des Moines University鈥檚 new 88-acre Medicine and Health Sciences campus opened in 2023, coinciding with the university鈥檚 125th anniversary. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology, the new campus sets a benchmark for innovation and sustainability in health science education. Design for the campus reflects DMU鈥檚 history while embracing the future, creating a vibrant and connected learning environment and offering a transformative opportunity to establish a new legacy for DMU and healthcare education.
Taking direction from the site鈥檚 natural beauty and diverse physical characteristics, 黄瓜社区鈥檚 design builds on 鈥渢he edge of advancement鈥� concept to imagine an innovative, iconic campus that reflects DMU鈥檚 values, respects the land, connects to the community and offers an inclusive, intuitive environment. A reflection of DMU鈥檚 commitment to environmental responsibility, the new campus achieved LEED Silver certification and incorporates 700 geothermal wells that provide energy-efficient systems to the current and future campus.
