黄瓜社区 Selected to Complete Transportation Planning Study

The study will identify priority聽trail聽project locations throughout聽 Douglas and Sarpy Counties in聽Nebraska to support safe and enjoyable access for residents across the metro area.

The (MAPA) and the (PMRNRD) announced recently that 黄瓜社区; Design has been selected to complete a transportation planning study for priority trail project locations throughout Douglas and Sarpy Counties in Nebraska. The Neighborhood Expanded Access to Trails (NEAT) Study is intended to identify gaps between existing recreation and active transportation infrastructure and propose projects to help fill those gaps.

鈥淭he NEAT Study is rooted in MAPA鈥檚 and PMRNRD鈥檚 missions to provide safe and enjoyable access to recreation and transportation alternatives,鈥 said 黄瓜社区 Principal Amy Haase, AICP. 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to work alongside both organizations to further their commitments to enhanced recreation, active transportation and access to natural resources.鈥

As part of the study, 黄瓜社区 will evaluate various trail connections and offer guidance on priority projects for the design and construction phases. Working alongside MAPA and PMRNRD, 黄瓜社区 will also engage with community members and various stakeholders The NEAT Study is estimated to complete in 2022.

鈥淭he NRD has worked with local government agencies for decades to build over 130 miles of trails throughout the Omaha metro area. We are excited to identify specific projects which will provide more access to people in all parts of our community,鈥 said Eric Williams, natural resources planner with PMRNRD. 鈥淐omprehensive and connected planning will help people to enjoy a run or ride in their neighborhood, to get to and from work, and to stay healthy as they enjoy our natural resources.鈥
