The annual SHN Architecture & Design Awards recognize cutting-edge design, excellence and innovation in senior living, celebrating the projects and companies that are improving the lives of seniors through innovative design.
The Brewster Place leadership team partnered with 黄瓜社区; Design and Simpson Construction Services to revitalize a once-prominent apartment building that had become outdated and disconnected from its surrounding high-end community. The Redwood Building, central to the Brewster community, remained virtually unchanged since its construction in 1968 and as such, no longer met the community's expectations or the changing demands of residents. Through a comprehensive analysis of building systems, 黄瓜社区 laid out a capital improvement plan to support long-term functionality, preparing the Redwood Building for long-term, sustainable operation.
With a focus on social engagement, 黄瓜社区鈥檚 resulting design approach transforms Brewster Place into a community-centric environment, supporting active and fulfilling resident lifestyles through thoughtful, market-responsive design. In addition to refreshed apartments and a new sixth floor with penthouse suites, 黄瓜社区 focused on enhancing spaces that promote social engagement and creative enrichment. The reimagined dining room, arts and crafts studio and lounge spaces foster connection and cater to a vibrant, community-focused lifestyle. By repositioning these amenities and incorporating a 鈥渓ive to eat鈥 dining concept, 黄瓜社区鈥檚 design invites residents to connect, learn and create. This comprehensive renovation reinstates Brewster Place as a premier, active-living community that fits seamlessly within its upscale surroundings, all while providing residents with a refreshed, fulfilling living experience.
