The plan's goal is to inspire the next transformative elements of the city's parks and open space system. The Strategic Implementation Plan guides city leaders in the first 2 to 5 years following adoption, with recommendations to inform capital investments, updated level-of-service standards, the evolution of recreation services, funding and partnership opportunities, and ultimately the next generation of game-changing elements for the City of Des Moines Parks and Recreation.
